Attempting to deploy an image fails with error: “Unable to manage the distribution points for package

Issue/Introduction

The image is not replicated to the Site Servers In the logs, there is a warning for: “Unable to manage the distribution points for package “XXXXXX.gho” (Guid {}).

Cause

The package has been uploaded to the Notification Server or Site Server but the image needs to be distributed to other sites servers

Resolution

From the SMP console go to

Settings >Deployment > Image Management

In the Image Management  window click on the image to manage, then under details click on the package image name

From a new window click on the 'Package Server' tab.

Make the change for the 'Assign Package to:'  the desired 'Package Servers ..' or 'All Package Servers'.

Click on 'Update Distribution Points'.

Once the image is available on the Site Server, proceed with imaging.
