In Deployment Server 6.9, a new image is created using the Ghost imaging engine and then successfully deployed to the same model of computer. The newly imaged computer then attempts to boot but fails with a Windows "signature failure" error.
"There has been a signature error"
The master boot record on affected computers may be comprised of up to 4 sectors while the Ghost imaging engine only expects and captures one sector.
Using the "-ib" switch in the Additional Parameters field of both the Create Disk Image task and the Distribute Disk Image task, will cause Ghost to capture the entire boot track.
Applies To
Windows operating systems images when using Ghost as the imaging engine.
