Issue/Introduction

The online Help and the status of the Scanners under the "Host Attributes" section on the "Host Status" page do not match.

Condition: in an older version, when a newer version is avaiable for an upgrade. 
For example, the SMG v9.5.0, when there is an update to the next version (i.e.
9.5.1) is available.

Basically, if you navigate to Status->System->Hosts->, and then click on the "Software and Services" tab, when a newer version is available for an upgrade, the Control Center shows this status: an exclamation point in a yellow triangle (under the Control Center column).  The Scanners column, however, is showing a white cross on a red circle.

The problem: the online help (accessed from the BCC when you are on the Host Status/Host Attributes page, under the Software and Services tab) describes this for both the Scanners and Control Center:

"The icon that appears beside the name of the Scanner indicates the following status:

    Green check mark

    The current version of Symantec Messaging Gateway is installed.

    Yellow exclamation mark (!)

    A newer version of Symantec Messaging Gateway is available.

    Red X

    The Control Center version is different than the Scanner version."

So, in this particular case, a newer version of SMG is available, but instead of the "Yellow exclamation mark (!)" for the Scanner status, a "Red X" is being displayed which, according to the above help, is applicable when the BCC version
is different from the Scanner version.  So, the help and the actual status do not match.

 

Resolution

This is a known issue and will be addressed with a future release.
