Issue/Introduction

When viewing the Key Properties for a PGP key, the Change Passphrase button is grayed out and it's not possible to change passphrase for the key.

 

Cause

This can be due to the passphrase being stored on a certificate and not on the key.  Therefore it cannot be changed within the Key Properties in Symantec Encryption Desktop\PGP Desktop.

 

Resolution

To resolve this issue, change the passphrase on the certificate.
