Task server status showing shutting down.
Last check: No recent check.
Last registered: Not registered.

Cause

IIS Issues with the permissions, physical path and missing application virtual folder.

Resolution

--There were 3 task servers which were having issues with registering to the task server.

In the first scenerio we saw that the physical path was not correct :
Which should have been :
E:\Program Files\Altiris\Altiris Agent\Client Task Server\ServerWeb\

After correcting to correct path we did a IISRESET and then restarted the symantec management agent.

2.) Checked the Connect as to the path credentials on different task server and it had a specific user, changed it to Application User (pass-through Authentication).

3.) On the third task server we saw that the Application for ClientTaskServer itself was missing under which we usually see a Bin and Config folder.

So we created one Application and named it as ClientTaskServer and set the physical path to : E:\Program Files\Altiris\Altiris Agent\Client Task Server\ServerWeb\
And use pass-through authentication.

Restarted IIS as well as symantec management agent and were able to get the agents on the task server register to itself.
