Management Platform (Formerly known as Notification Server)

When installing SMP using Symantec Installation Manager if the regional settings of the server are set to spanish the readiness check fails with an ASP.NET_SP3 Error.

The following errors can be found in the SIM Logs:  C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Local\Temp\SIM Logs

Module: SymantecInstallationManager.exe
Source: Symantec.Installation.Automation.Output.ReportError
Description: Install Readiness Check " Failure:ASP.NET_SP3 Comprobacin de disponibilidad para instalacin. Result 'Con error'

Module: SymantecInstallationManager.exe
Source: Symantec.Installation.Xml.InstallReadinessCheck.get_StringResources
Description: Error while loading String Resources (Culture Spanish) for InstallReadinessCheck ASP.NET_SP3. Exception message: ResX file Unexpected XML declaration. The XML declaration must be the first node in the document, and no white space characters are allowed to appear before it. Line 108, position 3. cannot be parsed

This issue has been reported to the Symantec Development team. A fix should be provided in a future release.

There is a workaround for this issue:

1. Go to Control Panel --> Clock,Language, and Region --> Region and Language --> Formats tab

- Under 'Format:' change the language to English (United States) and hit ok

- Now you should be able to install SMP using SIM without getting the ASP.NET_SP3 error

- After the platform is installed you can set the language back to Spanish if needed
