You are installing SSIM 4.7 or 4.8 onto a virtual machine in VmWare
after the first reboot you get the following errors:
sbin/fsck.xfs: LABEL=evtarch does not exist
sbin/fsck.xfs: LABEL=evtdata does not exist
[FAILED]
*** An error occurred during the file system check.
*** Dropping you to a shell; the system will reboot
*** when you leave the shell.
Give root password for maintenance
(or type Control-D to continue):
This is happening because of the type of controller selected when creating the virtual machine, probably the LSI Logic SAS SCSI controller
When setting up the virtual machine you have the option of different kinds of SCSI controllers. You can successfully install with the following SCSI controllers:
LSI Logic Parallel (Preferable Choice)
or
VMware Paravirtual
You should chose the LSI Logic Parallel SCSI Controller because the response time for the VMware Paravirtual is very slow and install or upgrades can take very long.
