Issue/Introduction

Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) client firewall fails to initialize after install.

-Firewall is Malfunctioning error appears on the SEP client.
-Notification appears "unable to load the drivers".

Resolution

Steps to resolve the issue
   1. Run the Microsoft FixIt or follow the Manual methods provided in the document below:
        http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822798
        If the problem persists after running Fixit utility, try the rest of manual methods mentioned in the kb article as Fixit utility automates only manual methods 1 to 5(Total 11 methods).
 
   2. Reboot the system.
   3. Uninstall the SEP client. (Run the Symantec SEP uninstall utility, Cleanwipe, if uninstallation fails.)
   4. Reinstall the SEP client
