When installing Symantec Management Platform 7 ( NS 7) via Symantec Installation Manager ( SIM 7 ), the following error appears when trying to create a new database using a SQL login that has DBcreator server role:
'The login <user> is not associated with a server role having privileges to create databases. Select a different server or specify a different login with appropriate privileges.'
These are the steps that the customer followed when setting up his SQL user login and creating the new database via SIM:
1. Create a new SQL user
2. In SQL Management Studio, right-click on the user and select 'Properties'
3. Go to 'Server Roles'
4. Mark 'public' and 'dbcreator'
5. In SIM, select to install 'Symantec Management Platform'
6. On the Database Configuration dialog, select 'Use SQL Server login' and specify the user name and password for the user created above
7. Click Next.
Unknown. SIM processes are not able to validate the SQL server login selected during installation.
This issue has been resolved with the release of Symantec Management Platform 7.0 SP3.
