Issue/Introduction

In the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM), what do the "Throughput Details on Last Heartbeat" figures in the Site Status Report represent? Why are many of the numbers showing as "0"?

Resolution

In the SEPM Reports, the Site Status Report can be generated by selecting Report type: "System" and report "Site Status".

The report contains "Throughput Details on Last Heartbeat" details including:

  • Heartbeat
  • Policies Downloaded
  • Intrusion Prevention Downloaded
  • Learned Applications
  • Client Logs Received

All figures show the number of events per second for the current SEPM site.

On a SEPM with a moderate number of clients many of the figures may be 0 at any one time.

The figures are updated internally every 10 seconds, by the ClientTransportInfoTask process (see article TECH172201).

For full details regarding all SEPM reports please see article TECH95538 (the final section of the article deals with the Site Status report).
