Issue/Introduction

User unable to launch CCS RMS console.

Error: A failure occurred: Failed to connect to the Bindview Information Server in this machine because access was denied. The most likely cause is a problem in the DCOM permissions for the BVProcessManager object. You can check DCOM permissions using windows ‘DCOMCNFG utility’’

Cause

Improper permissions on DCOM for bindview console users and bindview console admin

Resolution

1.Login to RMS server with Service account.
2.Go to start run type DCOMCNFG and enter.
3.On new window expand Component Services –> Computers
4.Right click on My Computer -> properties -> COM Security
5.Add Bind View Console Admin and Bindview Console Users in Edit Default for Access Permissions and Launch  and Activation Permissions
