A virtual server is a server that shares hardware and software resources with other operating systems (OS), versus dedicated servers (physical). Because they are cost-effective and provide faster resource control,virtual servers are popular in Web hosting environments.
In the past, you have told us that CMS server needs to be physical. Is this still the case for 15.2 version
CA Data Protection is an on-premise solution that is not certified for any specific virtualization platform. While we make regular use of virtualization platforms in our own test environments we have not sought to endorse any particular solution. We do have customers running the CMS in 15.2 as a VM. While we don’t strictly state our support for VM, we do not differentiated between the two, and will supported them as long as they meet our recommendations for the server specifications.
