Symantec Management agent throwing AeXAuditPls.exe application error

Inventory Solution for Network Devices


During the software inventory on a client, AeXAuditPls.exe is crashing.

Multiple errors:

"Altiris Inventory Solution Software Scan has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience"

"Faulting application AeXAuditPls.exe, version 7.1.7580.0, faulting module kernal32.dll, version 5.1.2600.5781, fault address 0x00012afb."


The SVS 6.x Agent is not compatible with Inventory Solution 7.1 SP2 agent plugin.


Upgrade the SVS agent to a version that is compatible with 7.1 SP2+ or remove the SVS agent from the client computer using add/remove programs or by running the uninstall command line:

msiexec.exe /qb /x {7D8DBB7C-1C55-4950-A107-043C164F379A} REBOOT=ReallySuppress
