Messaging Gateway

The return address used by Messaging Gateway (SMG) for non-delivery report (NDR) emails and delivery status notifications (DSN) needs to be changed from the default value of "postmaster".

Messaging Gateway provides a means to update the postmaster email address included in the body of NDR and DSN messages generated by Messaging Gateway via the Control Center's Protocols > Settings page. The default value of "postmaster" results in the following format for NDRs.

Note: this configuration option does not change the email return address for NDRs and DSNs which is hardcoded to "[email protected]".

Example NDR / bounce message generated by SMG:

-------- Message --------

Subject: Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender
Date: Wed, 05 Dec 2017 13:19:13 +0000
From: [email protected] (Mail Delivery System)
To: [email protected]

I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not
be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below.

For further assistance, please send mail to <postmaster>

If you do so, please include this problem report. You can
delete your own text from the attached returned message.

<[email protected]>: 550 5.1.1 <[email protected]>: Recipient address rejected: User unknown in local recipient table
