KNOWN ISSUE: Certain strings of characters in project properties will generate errors in the SMP console when performing the step of validating the project properties while publishing from the SMP console

 When using Enterprise Management in the Symantec Management Platform console to publish projects errors will be generated during the validation of the project properties.

The following error is displayed in the SMP logs.

By default the project has page validation defined as true for security. This is causing IIS to reject certain values of the project properties.


Remove the page validation requirement using the steps below.

  1. On the SMP browse to %ProgramFiles%\Altiris\Workflow\Web.
  2. Make a copy of the web.config file
  3. Open the web.config file in Notepad.
  4. Modify the line <page validation="true"> to read <page validation="false">
  5. Save the modified file
  6. Restart IIS.
