Intranet Host names Do Not Resolve when using Symantec Web Gateway Proxy.

When you attempt to connect to a local Intranet Web Server through Symantec Web Gateway Proxy, the browser displays a page with the message:
The proxy was not able to resolve the hostname presented in the URL. Check if the address is correct.


The proxy configuration option for "append_domain" by default is not enabled on Squid Proxies, and is not enabled in the Symantec Web Gateway Proxy.


By default internal Intranet Web Server traffic should bypass the SWG Proxy by use of PAC file white listing, but you may also try using the Fully Qualified Domain Name when attempting to reach these sites.
