In some cases, when the reboot to automation task for Linux is used it, will get into a loop of rebooting into automation over and over again. This happens when the agent is not ready on the clients when the task is sent, and the computer is manually rebooted. This process sends the computer into a reboot loop until the task is stopped.
Agent on the Linux client doesn’t have enough time to report that it is in Automation to the NS before the reboot task executes.
We made a code change with the reboot.sh file to allow enough time for the agent to report back to the Notification Server so it doesn’t jump into this reboot loop.
You will need to update bootwiz with this change on all your PXE servers, the default location is:
C:\Program Files\Altiris\Altiris Agent\Agents\Deployment\Task Handler\bootwiz\oem\DS\Linux\x86\Base
You will replace the ULMagent.tgz with the file that is attached.
After file is replaced you will need to reconfigure your Linux pre boot environments.
