Why Does AXA Report Different Data Types Using Different Time Zones?

Issue/Introduction

     App Experience Analytics provides two primary types of data: aggregate and session data. In AXA, aggregate data includes any data that is reported for a specific time frame (day, week, month, etc). Session data includes any data collected for a specific user session (mobile or browser).



     Why do I see some data reported using local (browser defined) time zone and other data reporting using UTC times?

Environment

This behavior occurs in AXA versions 16.4.x and 17.2.

Resolution

     AXA is currently designed to report session data using browser time zone. All aggregate data is currently reported is shown using UTC time. Currently, there is no mechanism to change this. However, reporting all AXA data using local (browser) time zone is being considered for a future release.
