Error: "An error has occurred in the script on this page" after clicking "Purchase license" link in license expiration notice

Issue/Introduction

On a computer using Internet Explorer 6, a reminder to renew the license appears. When you click either the "Purchase license" or the "Symantec Endpoint Protection licensing Web site" link, you see script errors, and the page does not load.

Cause

This problem happens if the Internet zone security settings in Internet Explorer 6 are set to Medium-High or High.

Resolution

In Internet Explorer, under Tools > Internet Options > Security, in the Internet zone, change the security setting to Medium.
