Services stopped from Symantec Messaging Gateway (SMG) command line interface (CLI) cannot be started from Control Center GUI
Services stopped from SMG Control Center GUI cannot be started from CLI.
Affected services: Conduit, LiveUpdate, Brightmail Engine, MTA, Directory Data Service
This is a known side effect of SMG process control and working as desiged.
This behavior is not considered a defect and is a function of the SMG process control.
If a service is stopped from the Control Center GUI, the service must be started from Control Center GUI, not CLI.
If a service is stopped from the CLI, the service must be started from CLI, not the Control Center GUI
A restart of the SMG appliance will start all enabled services.
