Patch Management Solution for Windows Management Platform (Formerly known as Notification Server)

Notification Server fails to load after power drop on the server. The console refreshes continuously with flashing message 'Connecting...' and 'Notification Server Error' on browser.

Event Manager Error: "The type initializer for 'Altiris.NS.Security.SecurityContextManager' threw an exception

While starting Altiris Service: "Error 1067. Process terminated unexpectedly"

Coresettings.config file is corrupted and when opened it found the null values.

Coresettings.config.backup is blank.

Installation is corrupted.

Try the following steps:

1. Checked the previous version of coresettings.config.

2. Replace the coresettings.config and tried reconfiguring the database using below command

aexconfig.exe /db dbserver:<server name> dbname:<database name> dbusername:<db user name> dbpassword:<db user password> dbtimeout:<db timeout>

3. If the issue remains after rebuilding the coresettings then try restoring the file system from a previous backup  as we suspect an NTFS  corruption and thus many other corrupted files.

4. Resinstalling the server will be the last and quickest option in case all above steps have failed to solve the issue. However make sure there is a full backup of the database before proceeding with the resinstall

  • Existing database can be used by method of Backup restore or by selecting option of using Existing database while installing the SMP.
