When enrolling a mobile device through a Mobile Management site server, enrollment is successful. Changing the environment to use a Windows IIS/ARR Reverse Proxy, however, and enrollment fails with most of the pages returning a 500 error code.
There are two options for compression in IIS: static and dynamic. If there is a mismatch of which options are installed and enabled on the Reverse Proxy and Site Server, it can lead to communication errors.
This is more common on installations where the Mobile Management Site Services are installed on the Symantec Management Platform server, as both forms of compression are normally enabled on it.
On the Reverse Proxy and Mobile Management Site Server open the IIS Manager to go to Default Website > Compression.
Verify the compression settings are the same between the two servers. In most situations, disabling dynamic compression has the best results.
See TECH178752 for further troubleshooting steps if enrollment continues to fail.
