Issue/Introduction

Message Audit Log (MAL) search never completes

Cause

Messaging Gateway Control Center instance cannot communicate with the stand-alone scanner

Messaging Gateway is not certified for use with Hyper-V

 

Resolution

MAL  search completes and displays when the search is restricted to the combo machine

MAL  search of the stand-alone SMG  can be attempted using the CLI on that machine---if it works, this is the work-around

Recommendation is to install instances of virtual SMGs onto certified ESX platforms

 


Applies To

2 Virtual Symantec Messaging Gateways on Hyper-V platform

Once SMG is a combo (CC and Scanner)

One SMG is a stand-alone Scanner
