Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange (SMSMSE) is enabled on Exchange server. The process SAVFMSESJM.exe slowly consume more and more memory until all available memory on the server is consumed. This occurs during a manual, scheduled or background scan.
The cause is unknown at this time.

Configure SMSMSE so that the SAVFMSESJM.exe process is restarted after each manual or scheduled scan.
1. Run the registry editor by clicking Start|Run... and entering regedit and hitting the Enter key.
2. Open the following registry folder:
32 bit OS: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\SMSMSE\<version>\Server\Components\ScanJobManager
64 bit OS: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Symantec\SMSMSE\<version>\Server\Components\ScanJobManager
NOTE: <version> must be replace with the version of SMSMSE installed. The following is an example of SMSMSE 6.5 on 64 bit OS:
3. Create a new 32-bit DWORD with the name RestartOnAllScansCompletion and set the value to one (1). The following screenshot shows an example:
4. Restart with Windows service Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange.
