Issue/Introduction
Learn how to create a new Certificate Signing Request (CSR) in Symantec Messaging Gateway (SMG).
Resolution
- In the Messaging Gateway Control Center, navigate to Administration > Certificates > TLS & HTTP Certificates > Add.
- In the Certificate type drop-down list, click Certification Authority Signed.
- Fill in all the details, and click Request
- Copy the block of text that appears.
- In a text editor, paste the copied text into a new file, and save the file.
- Contact your Certificate Authority (CA) and provide them with the CSR. The CA will create your new certificate and send it to you.
- Import the new certificate into Messaging Gateway; the certificate should be in a .pem format.
- Update the HTTPS and TLS settings for Messaging Gateway with the newly imported certificate.
