Issue/Introduction

How to configure a Symantec Control Compliance Suite for Vulnerability Manager (CCS VM) remote scan engine.

N/A

Cause

The customer had some firewall issues with getting the remote scan engine
to work, followed by normal configuration

Resolution

White list the CCS VM Console server on the firewall. Also on the Firewall, open port 40814 for the remote CCS VM Scan Engine.

Further, configure the CCS VM remote Scan Engine as follows:

1.) From the CCSVM Console add the IP address of the target remote scan engine.  This will create a consoles.xml file under [installation_directory]/nse/conf

2.) Edit the consoles.xml and change the Enabled from 0 to 1. Restart the
remote nse service.

3.) Go back to the CCS VM Console and click Refresh on the newly added
Agent (which should go from Pending Authorization to Active).
