Issue/Introduction

A Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM ) administrator will sometimes observe blank Deployment Target Version, Deployment Running Version, and Last Deployment Time fields when viewing Client Status on a Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 Manager.

Open the SEPM console and click the Clients Tab along the left-hand border.  Highlight a chosen client and select Edit the Client Properties from the Tasks menu.  The resulting screen will show the client status, which includes the Deployment fields described above.

Resolution

This is as per design:

SEP 11.0 clients do not have the functionality to report Auto-Upgrade statusing to the SEPM, meaning the fields will remain blank regardless of whether an Auto-Upgrade policy has been assigned to a SEP 11.0 client.

Moreover, related to SEP 12 .1.x clients, these fields basically will only be updated if new information has been generated.

In the case of Windows cloned systems with the SEP client embedded in the image, the new client with zero install activity will show blank values for these fields, as well as in figure 1.
