Issue/Introduction

Encryption Management Server Web Email Protection will not allow the same user to have more than one concurrent Web Email Protection session.

If a Web Email Protection user logs in and then logs in again from a different browser or from a new tab on the same browser, the new session has the same IP address as the first session. The first session is logged out automatically and the user sees no warning message. In the Encryption Management Server administration console under Reporting / Logs / Web Email Protection, this entry is written:
trying to log in from different browser at the same time

If a Web Email Protection user logs in and then logs in again from a different IP address, the first session is logged out automatically and the second session sees the following, where 10.11.12.13 is the IP address of the first session:
Authentication Warning
A Web Email Protection session had already been opened for this account from the address: 10.11.12.13. That session has now been terminated and you are logged out at that address.

In the Encryption Management Server administration console under Reporting / Logs / Web Email Protection, this entry will be written:
trying to log in from different machine at the same time

Environment

Symantec Encryption Management Server 3.3.2 MP13 and above.

Resolution

Although it is not recommended, it is possible to allow concurrent Web Email Protection sessions. Please contact Technical Support if you wish to make this change.
