Issue/Introduction

Error exporting to csv - Could not load file or assembly 'ADODB' error.

Unable to open a record-set fro mresult-set database due to error: Could not load file or assembly 'ADODB, Version=7.0.3300.0,  or one of its dependencies. The system could not find the file specified.

Cause

Missing ADODB.DLL

Resolution

Verify that .NET Framework v1.1 is installed, and that the ADODB.DLL exists in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft.NET\Primary Interop Assemblies".

To add ADODB.dll to the assembly cache:


  1.     Log on to the computer as a local administrator.
  2.     In the Control Panel, open “Administrative Tools” | “Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Configuration”.
  3.     Under the “Console Root node”, go to “Assembly Cache” (at the top – see picture below). If you don’t see “Add” option, close Configuration and open it again.
  4.     Click on “Add an Assembly to the Assembly Cache”.
  5.     Navigate to “C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft.NET\Primary Interop Assemblies\ADODB.dll”.
  6.     Select ADODB.dll and then click Open to add the file to the assembly cache. There WILL NOT be any confirmation notice.
