Issue/Introduction
Error: "Access denied" while querying a UNIX server in agentless mode using bv-Control for UNIX.
Cause
Access is denied to /etc/shadow file if parameters to bvagentlessconfig.ini are not set accordingly.
Resolution
Go to the following location : <Installation_Drive>\Symantec\RMS\Control\UNIX\ConfigFiles
Open the file bvagentlessconfig.ini.
Comment the parameter value SecuredFiles=SecuredFiles.dat
Note: Comment this parameter only if the file content of SecuredFiles.dat contains the files entries i.e. etc/passwd,/etc/shadow. If file entries beside the ones mentioned are also present, then in the file SecuredFiles.dat , comment the entries for /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow .And keep the entry “SecuredFiles=SecuredFiles.dat “ in bvagentlessconfig.ini uncommented.
Make Sudosupport=true in the bvagentlessconfig.ini file .
