Issue/Introduction

When attempting to add a user to a disk using Symantec™ Drive Encryption for Linux(Formerly PGP Whole Disk Encryption for Linux), you may encounter the following error:

-11980: match not found

This can also occur when using the --secure option to setup the disk.

The following error message will be displayed:

-11980: match not found

Cause

This can occur if the username used for enrollment and the username currently logged into Linux do not match.

Resolution

Login to Linux with the same username that you intend to enroll with. For instance, if your username in your LDAP directory is jsmith, your Linux username should also be jsmith.

Applies To

This applies to Linux environments using Drive Encryption such as Ubuntu and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and a Symantec™ Encryption Management Server (Formally Universal Server) using LDAP enrollment.
