Issue/Introduction

Unable to copy the HDD image on a machine that has SEE Installed, though after decryption

Cause

Due to the unique SID number, duplication of the client in the database can happen.

SEE-FD Encryption Process
When a SEE client is deployed (and after a reboot) the specialized OS loads in the Pre-Windows environment. As the system continues to boot into Windows, an encrypted file system is created and used to hold settings of the pre-boot environment. As the system continues to boot into Windows, an encrypted file system is created and used to hold settings of the pre-boot environment. The MBR is also replaced with a SEE MBR. Then using a random number generator a unique workstation encryption key is created with AES. This key strength is determined what was chosen in the install package creation (128 or 256 bit). The workstation encryption key is then stored in the encrypted file system.

Resolution

At the moment till the SEE version 8.2 clone is not supported
