Issue/Introduction

I noticed, that the LRECL of the Capture Data Set created by our Message Automation Script for EVENT_TYPE=HSMLOG has changed from LRECL 352 to LRECL 312.  This caused the following Problem trying to use the Capture Data Set as Input to SYNCSORT:

WER171A     -CONCATENATED DATA SET, LRECLS NOT EQUAL OR RECFMS DIFFERENT

What is the reason for this change?

Resolution

Vantage Release 14.0 PTF RO93221 removes fields UNIQHASL and UNIQHASG from the object records since they are no longer used. As these fields are each 20 bytes long new LOG and Capture Data Sets are 40 bytes shorter.

Following details from the PTF:

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

The objects in CA Vantage include UNIQHASL and UNIQHASG fields.

These fields contain local and global hash for every record,

and hash records are hidden and used solely internally.

However, these fields are not used anymore.

The removal of the fields results in lower CPU and memory footprint.

SYMPTOMS:

None.

IMPACT:

It is redundant to calculate the global and local hash,

and also costs on CPU time and memory consumption.

CIRCUMVENTION:

None.
