When enrolling for a Symantec Validation and ID Protection Service (VIP) account, you may receive the following error message.
An account for the specified email address already exists. Try another email address.
This error occurs because the system does not allow the same Technical Contact for two different Symantec Validation and ID Protection Service (VIP) accounts.
To resolve this problem, please try the steps listed below:
1. Use a different technical contact during the account enrollment.
2. Remove or change the email address in the account that is using the email address.
