PGP Desktop does not recognize Outlook MAPI messages and does not encrypt emails on Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7
With Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Microsoft introduced the new registry value "RequireSignedAppInit_DLLs" and special requirements for AppInit DLLs.
For more information, see the Microsoft MSDN article "AppInit_DLLs in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2" (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd744762%28VS.85%29.aspx).
This issue was resolved in PGP Desktop 10.2.0. You must remove PGP Desktop through the Add/Remove programs and then Install version 10.2.x or above to resolve this issue.
Work-around if you are running PGP Desktop 10.0 -10.1.2 and do not want to update then you must edit a registry entry.
Warning: Incorrectly editing the registry may severely damage your system. Before making changes to the registry, you should back up any valued data on the computer. For more information on backing up the registry see the following article on the Microsoft support site: support.microsoft.com/default.aspx
