Issue/Introduction

This article details how to download and install Service Pack 2 for PGP Universal Server 2.12.0.

 

Resolution

In your Symantec Licensing Portal account, there will be three downloads available for version 2.12.0. The order to install the update is as follows:
 

1. PGP Universal Server 2.12.0.
2. PGP Universal Server 2.12.0 Service Pack 2 PUP
3. PGP Universal Server 2.12.0 Update for Desktop 10.0.0 (Optional update - for managed PGP Desktop 10.0 clients in a PGP Universal 2.12.0 environment).

 

Caution: When uploading update files to the server, do not upload more than one update to the server at a time.

When installing the PGP Universal Server 2.12.0 Service Pack 2 PUP update, upload the Service Pack 2 PUP file only and install the update. After installing Service Pack 2, then upload the PGP Universal Server 2.12.0 Update for Desktop 10.0.0 and install the update.

 

Note: If you have installed the update for PGP Desktop 10 support, you must re-install the update after Service Pack 2 finishes installing. For assistance in re-installing the update for PGP Desktop 10 support, contact PGP Technical Support.

 

 To Install PGP Universal Server Service Pack 2
 

1. Download the service pack.
    
2. Login to the PGP Universal Server administrative interface.
3. Click System > Updates.
4. Click Upload Update Package and browse to the location of the Service Pack 2 PUP update file.
5. Select the file and click Open then click Upload.
6. Once the file is uploaded, click Install.
