Issue/Introduction

When attempting to create a PGP Zip, the PGP Zip creation fails and displays the error:

Resolution

This error can take place when creating a PGP Zip with a large file or numerous large files and the passphrase option setting is configured to save your passphrase for a short period of time. This occurs when the passphrase is set to be saved for a time interval which is shorter than the time it takes to encrypt the file(s).

The default interval for saving your passphrase for a period of time is 2 minutes. To workaround the issue, increase the amount of time your passphrase is cached.

To change the passphrase cache time setting

  1. Click the PGP Tray icon in the Windows System Tray.
  2. Select Options. The PGP Options are displayed.
  3. On the General tab in My Passphrase, change the time interval to a larger value.
  4. Click OK.
