Unable to Generate Key on Aladdin eToken

Issue/Introduction

When attempting to generate a key on an Aladdin eToken, the option to add to Generate Key on Token remains grayed out even though the token has been initialized.

 

Resolution

This issue can occur when PGP Desktop does not automatically detect the Aladdin eToken. To resolve this problem, update the synchronization settings in the PGP Options of PGP Desktop.

To update the key synchronization settings

 

1. Open PGP Desktop.
2. Click Tools then select Options.
3. Click the Keys tab.
4. In the Synchronization section, change the setting below Synchronize keyring with tokens and smartcards from Automatically to Aladdin.
5. Click OK to update the settings.
