Issue/Introduction

After a new certificate is imported to the PGP Universal Server, PGP Desktop clients continue to receive a PGP Alert regarding an invalid or expired certificate.

Resolution

This issue can occur when the newly imported certificate is not designated as the Assigned Certificate for the network interface on the PGP Universal Server. After importing a new certificate, you must assign the certificate to the appropriate network interface(s).

To assign a certificate to a network interface

  1. Log into the PGP Universal Server admin interface.
  2. Click System > Network. The Network Settings are displayed.
  3. For the desired Interface, click the down arrow under Assigned Certificate.
  4. Select the new certificate from the drop-down menu.
  5. Click Save.
