PGP Corporation complies with its own PGP standard and is therefore is fully supported when used with other PGP products. Other encryption implementations such as OpenPGP, although generally compatible with PGP products, can have issues with PGP Mobile as follows:
- Email sent to recipients whose keys were generated with some OpenPGP implementations may not be encrypted. These keys may be incorrectly viewed as unable to perform encryption. This does not occur with keys generated from PGP Corporation products.
- Some emails may not be viewed on a device with PGP Mobile. If an encrypted message is unable to be viewed on the mobile device, please view it on a system that has PGP Desktop installed. This issue usually occurs when email is sent using a key generated from OpenPGP rather than an actual PGP product.
- PGP/MIME encoded emails sent from some OpenPGP implementations may not decode properly. This does not occur with PGP Corporation products. These emails may be decoded on a desktop system if PGP Desktop is installed.
PGP Mobile is fully compatible with email messages and keys created with PGP Corporation products.
