When attempting to update an existing PGP Desktop installation, you receive the following error:

The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'PGPDesktop.msi' is the box below.

This issue occurs when you deploy PGP Desktop using a installation file located on a network drive. The error occurs when the version of the PGP Desktop (.msi) installer file is no longer available on the network drive. The PGP Desktop .msi refers to the original location when performing the update.

Resolution

This issue is resolved by placing a copy of the original version of the PGP Desktop installer in the same location on the network drive or shared resource. Then perform the update of PGP Desktop to the new version.
