File names appear in Tune Up Undelete after running PGP Free Space Wipe

Issue/Introduction

After using PGP Shred Free Space, previously deleted files may be visible when using the TuneUp Utilities 2008 Undelete tool.

Resolution

This issue may occur when using PGP Shred Free Space on a partition or drive that is formatted with FAT32. Even though the files may still be visible and appear to be restorable with the TuneUp Utilities 2008 Undelete tool, the file data is garbled and not recoverable.

When the PGP Shred Free Space program is used on a partition or drive that is formatted with NTFS, the files do not appear when using the TuneUp Utilities 2008 Undelete tool.
