This article describes the steps to enable Secure PDF for an External User Policy. PGP Universal Gateway Email enables users to send secure content to recipients who do not have PGP software installed using Portable Document Format (PDF). PGP Universal Gateway Email can encrypt existing PDFs sent by the user, or also create secure PDFs out of normal email content.

Secure PDF

Use the following steps to enable Secure PDF for External Users.

 

  1. Open the PGP Universal Server administrative interface.
  2. Select the Policy tab and click the External User Policy tab.
  3. Click on the External User Policy you wish to edit.
  4. Within the Policy Options for the external policy, select the Web Messenger tab.
  5. In Delivery Options, place a check mark by Secure PDF and click Save.

Storage of Secure PDF files on PGP Universal Server

You can store copies of messages sent as Secure PDFs on the PGP Universal Server, and allow recipients to access them through PGP Universal Web Messenger. Messages read through PGP Universal Web Messenger are displayed in their original format, not converted to Secure PDF.

To enable this option, use the steps described below:

 

  1. Open the PGP Universal Server administrative interface.
  2. Select the Policy tab and click the External User Policy tab.
  3. Click on the External User Policy you wish to edit.
  4. Within the Policy Options for the external policy, select the Web Messenger tab.
  5. In the Secure PDF Options section, place a check in the box next to Retain sent PDF messages on the PGP Universal Server... and click Save.
