Issue/Introduction

Customer is using Dell laptops that have internal wireless network adapters. These laptops also have SEP 11.0.6005 installed and all protection technologies enabled. The customer is using Google Chrome for the web browser. When the user is connected to a wireless network and launches the Google Chrome web browser, SEP generates a DoS attack message and disconnects the laptop from the wireless network. This problem does not occur when using Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Internet Explorer

"Traffic from IP address <IP_address> is blocked...Denial of Service is logged"

Cause

This problem is related to Symantec Endpoint Protection client Release Update 6 is detecting a Denial of Service attack of type "UDP Flood Attack" from your DNS server.

Resolution

This problem is resolved with SEP versions RU6 MP1 and newer.
