Issue/Introduction

You want to test the communication link between the Symantec Endpoint Encryption (SEE) server.

Resolution

From the client machine, open a web browser and point to http://<servername or IP>:<port>/GECommunicationWS.asmx. If anonymous access to the IIS website is disabled, you will be prompted for a username and password of a user that has permission to access the Symantec Endpoint Encryption website that is hosted on the SEE Mangement Server.   

If the communication is successful, you will see a web page with the header "GECommunicationWS"

If the communication is unsuccessful, check the port number that the SEE management server website is being hosted on within IIS, and compare to the port listed in the FrameworkSettings.xml file in the root of the client installation directory.
