Issue/Introduction

Unable to successfully remove or eject USB Thumb Drive when Symantec Endpoint Encryption Removable Storage 7.0.6 is installed.

The following error messages are seen:

• Problem Ejecting USB Mass Storage Device
• This device is currently in use. Close any programs or windows that might be using the device, and then try again

Cause

RemovableStorageService.exe process is holding the USB thumb drive

Resolution

This known defect is planned to be addressed in SEE 8.0.1, currently planned for March 2011 release.
