Patch Management Solution for Windows

Issue/Introduction

There are too many Software Update Policies to view the targets one by one. Would like a report to display this data.

Resolution

Run the following SQL against the Symantec_CMDB database to view the requested data.

May also go to the Console > Reports > All Reports, right-click Reports folder and select 'New - Report,' and Replace the Parameterised  Query field with the contents of this SQL script, and save the report for viewing in the Console.

select pol.Name as 'Policy', isnull (rtar.Name, 'All Windows Computers with Software Update Plug-in Installed Target') as 'Target'
from vItem pol
left Join (
 SELECT i.guid, x1.value('.','UNIQUEIDENTIFIER') ResourceTarget
 FROM Item i
  JOIN
  (
SELECT Guid, CAST([State] AS XML) StateXML
   FROM vItem
   WHERE classguid = '49FE4304-E09D-4382-9026-715868FFB856'
  ) dt1
   ON i.Guid = dt1.Guid
  CROSS APPLY
   dt1.StateXML.nodes('//resourceTargets/resourceTarget/@guid') T2(x1)
 ) rt ON rt.guid = pol.Guid
left Join vItem rtar on rtar.Guid = rt.ResourceTarget
where pol.classguid = '49FE4304-E09D-4382-9026-715868FFB856'
order by pol.name desc
