Issue/Introduction

Query to the domain is failing with the Error "MQE Failure - MQEQuery::ExecuteStartQuery: The RPC server is unavailable. Context Information: MQEQuery::ExecuteStartQuery: An error occurred while attempting to contact the CCS Query Engine on '<Machine name>' which reports on <Domain name > domain or workgroup computer.  Verify that the Query Engine service is up and running and that the computer is connected to the network and is running. The RPC server is unavailable. BVNTQueryResultsExceptionSubsystem
Exception was caught. –" . You have confirmed that Query engine service is running and you can telnet on RPC ports from BVIS to the MQE. Machine is ping able with MQE machine name

Cause

Incorrect information in ECS database about the MQE

Resolution

1. Open BV-Config.
2. Go to Action-ECS.
3. Click Edit ECS Database.
4. Select that MQE in ECS Database Viewer and Click Edit.
5. Select TCP/IP under Protocol Sequences and Click Edit.
6. Make sure Correct IP is listed under Physical Address and BVIS can ping this IP address.
7. Click Ok

 

 

 


Applies To

MQE is in remote location and has two Network interfaces. One NIC is in same same network as BVIS or there is a route from BVIS to the MQE for that IP and the other NIC is using the IP which is on different network and has no route from BVIS to MQE.
