Error when opening the Altiris Console: "The following error occurred on the page 'Header.aspx'"

Issue/Introduction

When I try to open the Altiris Console, I get the error, "The following error occurred on the page 'header.aspx,'" and nothing else except a white window.

Cause

IIS needs to be reset.

Resolution

1. Stop Altiris Service and Altiris Client Dispatcher Service. Click Start > Administrative Tools > Services and then right-click on the Altiris Service and choose Stop. A Windows will appear stating that the Altiris Client Dispatcher service will also be stopped. Click Yes.
2. Reset IIS by opening a command window (Start > Run > CMD) and entering iisreset.
3. Wait for iisreset to stop the Internet services and restart the Internet services; then close the command window.
4. Start the Altiris Service and Altiris Client Dispatcher Service. Click Start > Administrative Tools > Services and then right-click on the Altiris Service and choose Start. Right-click on the Altiris Client Dispatcher service and click Start.
5. After the Altiris Service and Altiris Client Dispatcher Service have started, open the Altiris Console.
