Issue/Introduction

The Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) dbvalidator utility reports failures when install package links are broken. 

After running the C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\Tools\dbvalidator.bat utility, the resulting C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\tomcat\logs\dbvalidator-x.log(s) show similar failures:

Environment

14.X versions of the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM)

Cause

The SEPM database has links with client install packages that are broken.

Resolution

To work around this issue, delete old versions of client install packages through the SEPM console, then run the dbvalidator utility again and review the new dbvalidator-x.log(s). If the dbvalidator logs continue to show broken links,  please contact Support for assistance as some database errors can be fixed with additional tool(s).
